I bought a set of Canthan Ascetic's for my monk for 55'ing the trolls (skill points). Not ugly (or naked) like tats, and I still get +8 energy! Wonderful.
I'm not really noticing any huge benefit from having an increased energy pool, though. Balthazar's Aura and Bonetti's Defense were more than enough when I used a set of Wanderer's, energy was never an issue. I'm assuming this isn't exactly the case if you're doing duo UW runs...

The energy is helpful, yes. However it's not needed (as seen with my 55 monk as it wears normal droks armor).

I still stick with ascetic's because simple there are some times you don't get that full argo then they don't attack you enough then you are stuck in that argo circle with no energy. I find them more helpful either way.

I haven't tried it , there are some places I know for sure you cannot solo so far I've heard you can solo it the best with n/*mo I'm pretty sure you can solo some of it with a monk but its alot of timing and where to stay for patrols.

parts of it. not all of it. The really hard part about it is that you have to run to locations crossing through areas that strip enchant.

I find trying to solo UW with my 55 monk is difficult, only because I can't seem to put enough damage out to kill the bladed aatxes quickly. I realize it's a slow process, but after awhile they just regen before i'm able to kill them. lol
Seems like GW nerfed it pretty well.

I was wondering, is it possible to get the -50 Grim Cesta other than from Cities of Ascalon Quest? I accidently sold it, I think, so I was wondering if it was possible to get it somewhere else.

Well, I'm always able to kill them. You definatly need zealots Fire for it. Also I find alternating attacking with a customized smiteing rod can speed it up a little.

Yup seems that soloing UW ways always hard.. because of the nightmares and the AoE nerf. I've soloed it maybe twice with lucky spawns. 2 nights spawn your are almost always dead , depends on your skill lvl and the arrival of factions will make ectos drop even more in price.

I tried to follow your discussion, but i dont know a few terms, like HoD or FFS.
And how can a necro or a mesmer SOLO farm in UW?
You have to be second prof monk isnt it?

FFS = Fiery Flame Spitter - axe with 10% chance to half recharge of spells.
HoD = Henge of Denravi sword - sword with +5 energy.
Usually a mod that increases the duration of enchantments are added to these.

Yes, with a Monk secondary, Necros and Mesmers can solo UW. The skills used are pretty much the same as the 55 Monk, but the damage dealing skill(s) will be different e.g. Spiteful Spirit (SS) for Necros, and Illusionary Weaponry (IW) for Mesmers, instead of the Monk's Shield of Judgement (SoJ).
SB = Spell Breaker.

one note on HoD. Don't be tempted into buying these now. They are basicly worthless now that ANet added +5 energy to items again.
